Kaarlo J. Hietala is the founder and President of Liuos Thinking, Inc., a HUBZone and VA / NYS Certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) specializing in Logistics, Operations, and Homeland Security solutions for federal agencies and the private sector. Kaarlo is a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel who served for 24 years. His experience encompasses operations, logistics, and CBRN response. He earned his Masters in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College and has expertise spanning logistics, operational planning, and homeland security.

Under his leadership, Liuos Thinking has successfully delivered operational and logistical services to key clients such as NYC Office of Chief Medical Examiner and Department of Homeland Security (DHS). His past performance includes supporting Customs and Border Protection (CBP) initiatives to enhance operational readiness and infrastructure security, as well as Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) programs aimed at improving disaster response and resilience.

Beginning his military career in 1989, Kaarlo was a Combat Engineer until he was commissioned as an Infantry Officer and then an Ordnance Officer.
